Experience the buzz of the Derbyshire Dales, as this new online Beer Festival brings you a beer festival as you’ve never seen it before...
This year has introduced the new normal of social distancing restrictions to us all, along with a whole host of other changes we have had to get used too. One of which, until recently, meant no trips to the pub! Which even now we are allowed back, which is still a limited experience.
For all the beer fans out there, not only have the pubs been closed, this year has also seen the cancellation or postponement of many beer festivals and events. Until now... Local event organisers in North Derbyshire have decided that nothing is going to stop their party and have come together to plan an online beer festival, set to take place the weekend of August 29th - 30th. Introducing Cow Valley Online Beer Festival 2020.
As-well-as having a range of local beer, from a selection of local breweries, Cow Valley Online Beer Festival have got big plans for the weekend. They are taking over a local working farm to provide ticket holders a jam-packed weekend of live music, interviews, interactive quizzes, guided tastings by specialist brewers plus special behind the scenes access to the breweries that keep Derbyshire drinking. All from their pop-up TV studio and live music stage.
(The organisers of Cow Valley have promised that there are to be no skype or zoom calls! Everything will be high production value and streamed live from their studio where possible).
We've been assured that you will be in expert hands during the festival weekend, with this year's guest hosts: Becky (A licensed trader of 25 years and winner of the CAMRA real ale pub of the year, 2 years running) & Jane (Chesterfield's chair of CAMRA and official CAMRA accredited beer taster, as well as an expert panel member for "The Great British Beer Festival", in London).
To really capture the spirit of attending a beer festival, the organisers have implemented virtual bars, designed to mimic each of the breweries themselves, perfect for socialising with fellow beer and music lovers whilst still social distancing.
Enjoy a selection of beverages with like-minded drinkers and raise a virtual toast to vote for the “festival’s favourite beer”. Cheers!
If you think this sounds like something you'd be interested in, you may be wondering ...how does it all work?
When we asked them, they told us this:
Cow Valley is proud to offer a variety of drinks packages, to be purchased in advance of the festival at www.CowValleyFestival.co.uk. The main package comprises 12 different bottles of Craft Beer, with options available for Cider and low-alcohol drinkers.
The purchase of your drinks package includes “access all areas” to the full weekend of events, as well as a limited-edition Cow Valley beer glass and a collectible commemorative pin.
Once you have placed your order sit back and relax (or get really REALLY excited- we know we will) and Cow Valley will do the rest. We will ship out your package, so it is ready and waiting for the festival weekend.
Cow Valley Online Beer Festival loves our local countryside and they want to do their bit for planet Earth: and with that knowledge, they have announced they are committed to being a plastic waste-free festival.
Ultimately this is a local online event all about having fun, enjoying local beer, as well as supporting local breweries/companies.
A final word from the organisers:
"We can't wait to see you there!"
